Along the Seas and Lands of Far East. Popov Island

Island Popov

In 1983 Island Popov was a closed area, and the only way to get there was by a cruise ship or by a special permission. Now Island Popov is a favorite destination for inhabitants of Vladivostok. Then, in 1983, we spent a unforgetable day there walking around completely deserted rocky coast with a breathtaking views, collecting seashells and sunbathing. The water was so clear that sea creatures could be seen from above the cliff. We also visited the experimental station of the Pacific Oceanological Institute, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
